Hailing from the lush countryside of Albert Town, Trelawny, Jamaica, Richard Grant is an emerging recording artiste affectionately known as Vyrous and more recently, as Rytrust Vyrous due to the infectious nature of his lyrical prowess; spitting lyrics that effectively drive home a point, boldly and righteously stepping into any territory.

The last of five children, the recording artiste grew up in the parish of Trelawny in a district called Cotton Tree with his mother, Elaine Clarke and his siblings; two sisters and two brothers.

With his father passing away five months prior to his arrival into this domain, it appears hard life was lay-waiting him from birth. However, that didn’t stop the Rytrust Vyrous but instead became the motivation that fuels the artiste’s journey in music at a very early age. As a young youth, growing up in the countryside, Vyrous always found music not just fun but also an entertaining past-time which led him to begin writing officially at age 11, where he wrote his first song “Rough and Tough”. With his writing skills now activated, the artiste continue to write music, pulling inspiration from everyday life around him coupled with his own life experiences.

Rytrust Vyrous grew up listening to artistes like Buju Banton, Sizzla, Beres Hammond, Bounty Killer and Beenie Man amongst others; with one of his favorites being Vybz Kartel, whom he sees as a consistent artiste who truly believes in himself.

Vyrous’ dream is to use his music to spread the message of genuine love across the world while showcasing his writing skills and versatility.

One of his wishes is to see all entertainers coming together for the betterment of the Jamaican music industry and to reverse the negative energy that has infiltrated Reggae music.

On July 13, 2022, the artiste officially released his first single, Freedom of Speech featuring US-based Jamaican artiste Tafari Watkis on FAIM’s BLAAC LIONSS label. The song was released alongside a very appropriate lyric video and on November 11, 2022 he followed up with a scorching hot music video to complement the song from start to finish.

Rytrust Vyrous is currently signed to BLAAC LIONSS and is managed by FAIM.
