Headcornerstone Ends Hiatus With ‘Walk On’
HEADCORNERSTONE ENDS 10-YEAR HIATUS WITH RELEASE OF ‘WALK ON’
Headcornerstone‘s latest album – Walk On – was released on May 21, with a vinyl edition to follow later in 2021. The 12-track album sees Headcornerstone return to their proverbial ‘roots’. Over the three-year period it took to complete the album, Headcornerstone and Oneness Records have created an expansive and compelling project which brings their classic sound fully up-to-date.
Walk On sees Headcornerstone delve deep into Roots Reggae: from Greatest Joy with its Nyabinghi opening and beautiful spoken-word piece by legendary Dub poet and author Mihlawhdh Faristzaddi, to the title track’s whimsical horn arrangement evoking a bygone era. Headcornerstone have also delivered a lyrically potent narrative throughout the album.
Why deals with the treatment of children as casualties of “economical warfare,” while Love in Abundance explores a vision of a world where love spreads like the “waters that cover the sea.” Producer and mixing engineer aDUBta hopes listeners will experience, “the good vibes we had during the recordings. We hope people can hear and feel our deep passion for Roots Reggae music. For me, it‘s a very special production.”
